Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Lisa asks…

Raw Food Diet?

Can anyone tell me more about it i saw a special on Dr. OZ Files, whee they took people and fed them raw foods for 12 days and it lowerd alot of their health risks. They gave them some fruits veggies and one olive a day for the salt. I want to know how many veggies i need to eat and how many fruits i need to eat a day. And can i get any feed back from people on it or who have tried it. Would you recommend it to people who have prolems with diets? Is it pretty easy?

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’m such a fan of the raw food diet. I grew up with your typical American fare and was paying for it badly with acne, fat, lethargy, Candida, etc.
Ever since I started combining the right meals, fasting, and eating raw, I’ve become such a healthier person, I’ve lost the fat that I could never get rid of, my skin is clearer and I’m much more energetic.

You should try and get Natalia Rose’s book titled “The Raw Food Detox Diet.” She’s a nutritionist for models, celebs, and TV personalities. You can get her book at Amazon for under $12, so it’s not that pricey.

I totally recommend going raw for anyone struggling with weight issues, food issues, overeating, acne and unhealthy people. It’s easy because you can still eat and you’re not starving or depriving yourself from foods.
Good thing about Natalia’s book is that you can still eat cooked foods, but she recommends to try and do it once a day only – preferably dinner time. So eat raw food in the morning and lunch time – snacks throughout the day are raw too.

Lizzie asks…

A good diet cat food?

My two year old Bombay cat is starting to look fat. Does anyone know a good diet cat food?

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you are feeding a good diet, the problem will usually sort itself out.

Stay away from dry food. Not only it is loaded with carbs, contributing to obesity and diabetes, there are many other health issues that have been linked to dry food, like urinary tract obstructions and renal failure.

Feed all wet diet, high quality. Learn to read the labels. Look for grain free cans that list muscle meat as a fisrt ingredient and contain no byproduct. Good brands are Wellness Core, EVO, Merrick etc.

Learn more about cat nutrition and what they need to keep a healthy weight and avoid health problems below. If you don’t like to read all of them, read at least the fisrt one, it’s very informative and helped me a lot in deciding what I wanted to feed my cat.

And yes, you may have to cut down on the food, feed it about 3 times a day smaller portions.

Best of luck!

Mandy asks…

Can crested geckos live on the diet food.?

I decided that my new pet would be a crested gecko. I was wondering if the can live on there diet food without eating insects and of coarse i would feed it chopped earthworm 2 but would those 2 foods work for my new crested geckos food.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Crested Gecko Diet (CGD) is perfect for them. It’s formulated to provide all the vitamins and nutrients they need to thrive. This should be the main diet offered to them.

They do love to hunt though, so it would be beneficial to offer live food a couple times a month. It will help keep your crestie active and will stimulate the natural hunting instinct that they possess. Crickets would be your best option when offering live prey, but they will readily eat worms as well. Don’t offer worms too often though, as most worms have very little nutritional value and are high in fat. Think of worms as an occasional snack.

Baby food is also great as an occasional treat. I suggest when feeding baby food, to hand feed it to them. This is the perfect opportunity to bond with your crestie and earn its trust. Keep in mind that the baby food should be a tropical fruit such as bananas, peaches or mango.

Hope that helps. Very cool choice too!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

David asks…

how can i lose weight easily?

I dont want to be a bother to anyone but i really need to know how to lose some weight. Im 13 and i weigh 140 i am 5’3. I was walking yesterday and my friend said we got to get fit for before summer i said “o k , but i really cant picture myself with a 6 pack” so I was wondering if anyone could help me i cant go to a gym. But i have a big field in front of my house. Please tell me what i should do and thank everyone so much for the answer’s!
laughing thank you so much and i didnt mean to put easily what do you suggest i eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Because school lunches are really well idk. But they try to add wheat bread. So do i pack my own lunch or what please send back and you’ve been a great help. i dont have a bike but the big field how many times should i jog around it? How many days? WHich days? Am i the normal weight size for a 13 yr old boy? so much to ask!

weight loss cardiff answers:

There is no “easy”, I will tell you that much. Also, you must be fit for yourself, not for others.

Weight is diet and exercise. For someone your age and height, you should consume about 1,400 just to function. (Calories are used for growth, heart rate, breathing, and all body functions, not just fat.) As you drop weight you slowly drop the amount of calories you consume. These are also 1,400 calories of food you can get real nutrition off of… Fish, chicken, apples, yogurt, etc. Cheetos, french fries, and hamburgers have very little nutritional value and what are called “empty calories”. For your metabolism to function properly and to lose weight you must feed your body well and properly. Starving yourself does absolutely nothing except cause you to bloat.

As for exercise, there are TONS of activities you can do! Swimming, biking, jogging, playing sports, etc. A one hour bike ride of “leisurely” riding (11mph or less) can burn 350 calories. Just bike 3x weekly with friends and you’ll drop 1,000 calories per week. Guess what? That’s about 1lb!

The absolute best thing you can do for your body is don’t over do it. ALL bodies respond differently and should be treated as such. Don’t listen to anyone, you must take things slow and make a real change, not something “just for summer”, or you’ll end up sick.

Try having 3 healthy meals per day with a healthy snack or two. Stick to the 1,400 calories. (Breakfast 400 calories, lunch 400 calories, a 100 calorie snack, and a 500 calorie dinner.) A 100 calorie snack can be a small pack of popcorn, a Yoplait yogurt, some grapes and cheese, or whatever you want!

Remember, drink lots of water! Water keeps your body healthy and keeps things moving. Try and drink 4-6 glasses of water per day. Not to mention if you drink a bottle of water with an afternoon snack it helps you feel full and will reduce urges to “snack”!

3 meals, 1 snack, 1,400 calories. Do regular exercising and try and get your heart rate up at least 3x per week along with other exercises. (Jump rope, jogging, etc all get your heart rate elevated.) Drink water, keep yourself healthy, and enjoy being a young teenager!

I wish you the best of luck!

(With what I just told you, in 8 weeks time, you can lose about 8-10lbs. It’s unhealthy and unrealistic to expect any more than that. If you stick with it and strive to be healthy, though, by next summer you can shed many more pounds.)

Linda asks…

Help from a teenager: losing weight?

This is coming from somebody who wants to change. Please don’t be immature.

I’m always big. I never was at an average weight, and I hate that. I never was average.

I’m 14, going into 15. I am considered overweight. You don’t even have to weigh me, you’ll already know if you see me. Lol.

I want to change, so I have a few questions.

To start off, if I were to lose a lot of weight (probably half of me right now… uh… don’t laugh), will that affect my skin? That’s what I fear the most. I don’t care about stretch marks, it’s the tightness of my skin that is bugging me.

I fear that I will look older than I really am if I were to lose weight. I dislike surgeries, and rather not take that option, even if it was offered to me. Plus, my single mother isn’t doing all that well in the first place…

Will it sag or wrinkle?

I assume that it “depends on how big I am”? Let’s just say I’m probably bigger than you, but I will not have my own documentary of how large I am (get what I’m saying?).

The only positive thing about being overweight is that when you sleep, it’s comfortable. Your stomach acts like a pillow.

Yes, it’s a serious question.
Well… I’ve always, always been overweight…

Phew… I’m surprise by the mature answers. Thanks.
Mr. Choke… I can’t help but think that you’re not overweight. I think it’s your height.

I’m 5’1. That’s bad for somebody who’s overweight. Lol.
I will never go on an unhealthy diet routine like throwing up.

Also, does taking lots of fiber work?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hey man chill lol i used to be a fat bastard myself, still am a little overweight but not as bad. Used to be 5’7 230 pounds now im 5’10 190 pounds.
Im 15 as well, at our age our skin stretches as we lose weight so you wont have hanging skin or anything.
You’ll see that you don’t bruise as easily though.
It wont make you look older so you can chill on that one.
Hey if your really that fat you can lose a lot of water weight and look better, which could boost your self esteem
Find a girl you like maybe, she will motivate you to get your fat ass into motion and work off some pounds
Just cut down on any fatty stuff your eating
Look at the percents on the back of stuff your eating, follow those loosly you can go over a bit or under a bit its all good
Just jump on a treadmill and lift some light weights with high repetitions.
Find motivation, i dunno if your like some people but think “Wow if i get a nice body, it will fit my personality and i can get some pussah”
You know what im saying?
Take it easy work hard. Peace 🙂
Hey i wanna call ivy a idiot 😛 just putting it out there
I wanna call anyone saying that he will have sagging anything
a retard because its not true.
Maybe if hes gifted he will have some stuff sagging but other than that it wont
LOL yea im pretty big, but i have a gut and man thighs too bro. I got pics if you really don’t believe me
Fiber helps but not too much of it
Hey add me on msn i like helping people that are like me lol
When you lose weight you will grow bigger but i dont know if youll ever reach past 5’6 you never know though

Jenny asks…

why does it become diff to lose weight after acertain age?

weight loss cardiff answers:

The reason it becomes harder for people to lose weight after a certain age is the same reason for why people gain weight easily after a certain age: metabolism. After people are done growing, their bodies don’t need as much energy (calories) to keep their bodies doing what they do. Since a lot of people don’t really know that their metabolism slows down after a certain age, they continue eating like they’re teenagers, consuming more calories than they need, which causes them to gain weight. When they try to lose that weight it’s harder than it is for a teenager to lose weight since the metabolism of a forty year old isn’t as going to burn as much calories for energy as a fifteen year olds.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Sandra asks…

How do I lose weight in my stomach and chest?

I have been running a ton (about 30-40 miles per week) for the last 3 months and my diet is healthy. I have lost some weight but am finding it nearly impossible to lose the gooey fat in my manboobs and stomach. What the heck do I need to do? I do situps and left weights (bench press) all the time. HELP! I look like the poster boy for bitchtits.

weight loss cardiff answers:

You sure the diet is right? Mostly vegetables and fruits, with ample amounts of meat, dairy, and grain.

Incremental exercise is usually the answer when you settle in a rut that you can’t seem to get out of. It’s most clearly exhibited in cardio (your running). When you first do cardio, your body burns a certain amount of energy – lets say 1,000 calories in 30 minutes. But as time goes by and you keep doing cardio constantly, your body adapts, becomes stronger and more efficient,…and eventually burns only 600 calories for the same 30 minute workout. That’s why you have to do increments. Alternate between fast, normal, and sprinting speeds. It keeps your body guessing, up and running, and therefore will always burn as many calories as it did a year ago.

Chris asks…

how to lose weight fast?

how do u lose weight faster

weight loss cardiff answers:

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the daily calorie needs calculator This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

if you have time also read this aah…just forget about what all say…like ” go on diet….” “eat less food” bla bla bla!!! Just try out the world’s best solution that is Eat more, lose more!!!

Haha i am not joking..try this out!!

( ! ) Don’t starve yourself.

Lowering your calorie intake will make your body reduce the rate at which it changes calories into energy. In other words, reducing calorie intake slows down your metabolism and holds onto your fat. Starving yourself will actually make it harder for you to lose weight. Food is fuel or energy and when you skip meals, you are not working on energy hat can be burned off. As a defense mechanism, your body clings to calories and slows down your weight loss.

(2) Get a breakfast boost.

Connie Dickman, a registered dietician and nutritionist advises not to skip breakfast. According to her, breakfast gives you energy so that you are not starving as the day go on. When you skip breakfast, you become so hungry that you eat more than you should or eat the wrong foods.

(3) Eat complex carbohydrates.

Practice eating complex carbohydrates rather than simple carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates are found in food such as candy, cereal, softdrinks and ice cream. They are easily absorbed by the body and they stick to the ribs, according to weight loss specialist Dr. Daisy Merey. Simple carbohydrates have a tendency to make you store more fat.

On the other hand, complex carbohydrates which are found in pastas, potatoes, beans, whole grains, vegetables and fruits contain “good” calories that are easily burned.. In switching from a meat-based diet to the one tat is starch-based, you get the same amount of food with only 25% of the calories, says John McDougall, M.D., Director of the McDougall Program at St. Helena Hospital.

Eat more fruits and vegetables, which are high in complex carbohydrates. You will eat more, but you will lose more, because the feeling of fullness will hinder you from eating high-fat foods that make you gain weight.

(4) Eat Fiber.

Kristine Clark, the Director of Sports Nutrition at Penn State University says that eating high-fiber foods can help people keep their weight under control. Because foods hat are rich in fiber help people to slow down their eating and foods that are high in fiber contain less fat and sugar.

According to Nutrition experts, one should eat 20 to 35 grams of dietary fiber a day. There are two kinds of fiber in foods. The soluble and the insoluble fibers. Soluble fibers are those that dissolve and thicken in water. Foods that contain soluble fibers include broccoli, zucchini, barley, oat bran, beans and citrus fruits.

Insoluble fibers include skins of fruits and vegetables and the external coatings of wheat kernel.

Fiber is an essential ingredient in one’s diet because the insoluble form prevents constipation. Studies revealed that the soluble fibers play an important role in reducing cholesterol.

(5) Drink water.

Water helps the body break down fat and process waste according to Dr. Denise Bruner, a Virginia bariatrician, describing how water as part of her diet, helped her to shed 62 pounds. One should drink eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day.

(6) Exercise and be active in household work.

T o exercise is one of the best ways to maintain your weight down. Exercise helps you to burn calories. According to Franca Alphin, Nutrition Director at Duke University Diet and Fitness Center in North Carolina, “You can lose weight without exercising, but you won’t maintain the weight loss.” Exercise may not be a major player in weight loss, but it is the number one player in preventing weight gain,” says Jack H. Gilmore, Ph. D.

Inactivity burns fewer calories each day, which are stored as fat. Daniel Kosich, Ph. D., the author of Get Real: A Personal Guide to Real-Life Weight Management and an advisor to Jane Fonda Workouts, says regular activity is a critical part of successful weight loss. It doesn’t have to be a strenuous workout. You can burn calories just by doing ordinary chores such as gardening and housework. “Pushing a mop or vacuum across the floor increases your heart rate and creates resistance ,” says Barbara Baldwin, Information Services Director for the American Running and Fitness Association in Maryland.

“Raking leaves, stroveling snow, sanding, painting and waxing the car are calorie burners.”

According to Laura Gladwin, California-based exercise physiologist, gardening is a great exercise because weeding, pruning and planting require bending and stretching. “You will burn 1,000 calories by doing three-and-a-half hours of garden or yard work in a week,” she says.

Ellen F., a crafter in Coral Springs, Fl, found out that dieting wasn’t enough to help her shed 20 pounds of excess weight.. She joined a low-impact aerobics class at her community center. By doing aerobics excercises for an hour, three times a week, she lost 20 pounds much quicker than simply dieting.

Walking is one of the healthiest, easiest and cheapest form of exercise. Stroll briskly through a park or around your neighborhood. Walking will be more pleasurable if you do it with a friend..

Suzanne Rossa, an exercise physiologist at Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center in West Palm Beach Florida says, “Aerobics excercises improves your circulation , increases blood flow, allow you to have a better blood pressure and decreases the amount of fatty substances in your bloodstream.”

(7) Build muscle.

Tufts University studies revealed that strength training – the kind that builds muscle will raise your metabolic rate, which enable you to burn calories. Strength training does not always follow that your muscles will grow bigger but they will certainly grow stronger.

Daniel Kosich in his book, A Personal Guide to Real Life Weight Management says, “when you make muscles stronger, they burn more calories. That means that for each pound of muscle you build with strength excercises, you burn 20 to 30 calories a day from your resting energy output or about 7,300 calories a year. You can strength train by using machines and free weights such as barbells.

(8) Follow the Pyramid.

The American Diatetic Association recommends a food guide pyramid that serves as a general list of healthful foods that must be eaten daily. The pyramid has four levels. The top of the pyramid is the smallest part , represents fats, oils and sweets. This group includes salad dressings, butter, ice cream, softdrinks, candies and desserts and foods that has very little nutritional value and can make your calories add up to.

At level two of the pyramid are the milk, yogurt, cheese group, meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs and nuts. These foods provide you with protein, calcium, iron and zinc.. ADA recommends two to three servings daily of this group.

The third level represents the vegetable and fruit groups, which are good sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber. ADA recommends three to five servings daily of this group.

At the base of the pyramid are the bread, cereal, rice and pasta. ADA recommends 6 to 11 servings of this group. These foods are source of fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals

(9) Stop taking the following food.

ALCOHOL : a 12-ounce can or bottle of beer contains 150 calories. An

Alcoholic beverage can add 100 to 200 calories to your meal.

Alcohol is stored in the liver as fat.

COCONUT : An ounce of raw coconut contains 100 calories, around 77%

Of which is saturated fat.

They are full of simple carbohydrates, which means they are

High in sugar and fats. The main fat in chocolate is cocoa

butter which is approximately 60% saturated fat.

Whole milk has high content of fat.

SUGAR : Softdrinks has very high sugar content.

MARGARINES : Contain hydrogenated vegetable oils.
