Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Thomas asks…

How to lose muscle / weight in 3 days?

In February, I am going away for 3 full days and I have a ballet school audition at the end of February. I need to take this chance to lose some muscle weight HEALTHILY.

About me on a daily basis:
– Consume about 1500-1600 calories. I try not to snack and keep it at 1200-1300 most days.
– 5’4
– 124lbs

1. Is it possible to lose 6-12 lbs in 3 days with healthy eating (not starving myself) and 2 hours of running per day?

2. How do we lose muscles in our calves? My calves are VERY big (muscular, not fat due to dance). My thighs are becoming muscular too. Are there any exercises good for losing calories and also leaning out your calf muscles?

3. What should I eat to reduce the production of muscles? I usually eat a lot of meat (haha meatarian). What works?

4. Have any of you tried HEALTHY diets before? Ones that won’t make you gain all your weight back right away (from your body being on starvation mode).

5. I am about 124lb and 5’4. What is the “average weight” for girls who are 5’4?

NOTE: I am a professional dancer so I can’t afford to be “average” in weight. I need to be slim in order to be a ballet dancer. That is why I really need to go on this diet before my audition.

weight loss cardiff answers:

It’s possible to MAYBE lose 1 lb in 3 days…maybe (not counting water weight, but an actual pound of fat) if you consider most people on a healthy eating and exercise plan can lose up to 3 lbs/wk safely..

Six pounds should take you at least 2 wks (or more) and 12 lbs at least a month (or more)…anything faster than 3 lbs/wk indicates an unhealthy method and also means the weight is unlikely to stay off long term….

Betty asks…

Is it possible to lose weight while you’re pregnant?

I read in a health magazine a few years ago that there was a girl that lost weight while she was pregnant. She stated in the article: ” The rest of my body shrank as my belly grew.” Is this really possible?
I weigh 160 lbs and I’m 5’3.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I lost a few pounds during morning sickness, but that was it. It’s not safe to lose a lot of weight. Her body probably stayed the same but seemed smaller to her in comparison to her belly.

Lisa asks…

Is it safe to have weight loss during pregnancy?

Im 4 mons. pregnant and i have gained about 10 pounds before i got pregnant and i was wondering if there is a safe way to lose weight while pregnant even if i was eating healthy etc. or is losing weight a no all together during pregnancy?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Now is not the time to lose weight. Just eat healthy and exercise. You can lose weight after the baby is born.

Ruth asks…

Is it safe to lose excess body weight while pregnant?

Through healthier eating and exercise, is it safe to lose weight ( excess body fat ) while you are pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Healthy eating and moderate exercise are great while pregnant, but you should not be trying to lose weight at this point…most likely your OB would tell you if you are overweight that it is safe for you to gain less than 25 lbs during pregnancy, and then to worry about losing weight after you have your baby. Ask your OB.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mary asks…

I am 13 and overweight, what are some ways to lose weight?

I am 13, 5’4″ and about 190 pounds. I would really appreciate some weight loss tips.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The only way I’ve ever been able to lose weight is to keep a food journal, write down everything you eat and drink every day. Jot down the number of calories from packaged foods and drinks, you might be surprised what is (or isn’t!) fattening.

Don’t “diet” but instead try to figure out what you will be happy eating long term that is good for you. People who are able to keep weight off don’t usually follow an exact diet they read in a book, but instead figure out what works for them as individuals (I read that in a Consumer Reports article reviewing various commercially marketed diets). You can use a particular diet as a starting point, if that helps you, and then charge it to fit what you like.

The first week keeping a journal, don’t make any goals, just get an idea how much you are currently eating. Then start to set small goals one at a time, like reducing the number of snacks, eating smaller portions. If a particular kind of food seems to be your weakness, try to find lower calorie alternatives you like just as well, or if you can’t, you might want to limit the number of servings per week. You can also set goals like trying a healthy food you’ve never had before. But be gradual when you set goals. Don’t try to do too much at once, and don’t get down on yourself if you don’t meet a goal.

It does help to increase exercise. But whenever I try to stick with some list of exercises, I always let it slide eventually. So that never worked for me. It helps to find something active you do for fun, or it is just part of daily living, that you don’t think of it as exercise.

Most important, it’s about health, not weight. Many young women are way too thin, which is harder on your body than being overweight. Taking care of yourself may not seem important now, but when you get older, the better care you take of yourself when you’re young, can pay off by giving you a better quality of life. Eat good food, relax and don’t get too stressed, find activities you really enjoy, have fun.

Sandra asks…

Please help I need tips on weight training and healthy eating?

I’m gonna start going to the gym tomorrow and I need to do 30 minutes of weight training I just need help with working on what parts of the body for each day 5 days outta the week so i can switch it up. Also I want some weight loss tips cuz I need to lose.26lbs by may

weight loss cardiff answers:

You should try to avoid working out consecutive days, your body needs time to rest and replenish what it lost in the workout. If you only have 30 minutes a day, make em count, you should try a cycle of exercises for each muscle group.

Here is a great system for your goals, it is what I currently do and it is pretty intense, one set of each exercise and cycle to the next, repeating the process for about 30 minutes

Make sure you stretch before and after and as for diet, eat lightly before workouts and replenish afterward with protein, carbs, and most importantly, water!

Ken asks…

How do I get in to weight loss. I have the healthy eating part down..?

I need to lose some weight, I cant seem to get in to the mode. Anyone have any weight loss motivation tips or what I should do?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Everybody is different and so is they way they must approach weight loss. For me having 2 kids and a crazy schedule I had to find something I could do at home and did not need to much time investment.
I discovered Unique Hoodia which is a appetite suppressant. I’ve tried other supplements but had no luck. Hoodia was a little expensive but cheaper than fitness equipment!

It worked for me, just thought I would pass this along.

William asks…

Does anyone know of a site that is specifically for blogging about weight loss?

I am planning on starting a diet and would like to blog about it and be inspiring to others who are dieting an get discouraged. Because I know the struggle, my weight loss might not be as life threatening as it maybe to others but it’s important to me. & I would like to share my story with those who it would encourage to pick up and try again.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Take a look at – it’s free and easy and you’ll find a lot of support there. In the last couple of days, there’ve been a few missions started dedicated to weight loss (a couple women who’ve lost 20+ already and want to lose 20 more).

There is a lot of support, encouragement and accountability – and you’ll get an opportunity to inspire a lot of people if you’re successful! Hope that you’ll check it out!

Nancy asks…

What weight loss pill should I take that will work fast?

I am an 18 years old girl, and I am overweight, I need to lose weight fast. What weight loss pill should I take to burn fat fast, and what exercise should I do to help.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Taking pills is the worst thing you can do for yourself. You should try working on your eating habits and set small and achievable goals at first. Also start an exercise regimen. Remember, weight loss should be slow, gradual and permanent! Not a quick fix unless you want to fail at it.
