I want to be thin :(((
And I cant take any pills .. My parents wont allow me

weight loss cardiff answers:

Please don’t resort to pills and extreme diets to lose weight!
You can easily lose weight by getting around 30 minutes of cardio a day (any exercise that raises your heart rate to 70-85% of your maximum, i.e. Jogging, swimming, stair walking) and reducing your calorie intake by 10% (i.e. 1800 instead of 2000)

Every person has enough time to exercise, with the exception of a few. I can guarantee you spend more than 2 hours a day doing something pointless. If you really want to lose the weight, just take 30 minutes of your day to do it! You can lose up to 2lbs a week doing this. It really is that easy!

Maria asks…

Whats a super easy way to lose weight?

I know its dumb, but I want to lose weight as easily as possible. I dont have the time or money for diet and exercise, plus I work at McDonalds, soo.. you see my dilemma. I’m not asking for quick weight loss, just some small stuff I can do to shed a few pounds over the next couple weeks?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Eating low calorie foods, and making sure you only eat three meals with no exceptions.

Also drink more water!

David asks…

How can a teen girl safely lose weight?

I am a 13 year old girl, 5 ft 4 in and 146 pounds. According to my doctor, I am slightly overweight, and it would probably be better for me to lose about 10 pounds. Now, I exercise regularly, and I eat pretty healthy, so I’m not sure how much of my weight is actually fat. I’m not the most athletic, but I’m not out of shape either- I do well when I play tennis. I have a taller and broader frame than other girls my age. So I don’t consider myself unhealthy, but I’d like to be even more fit and drop a few pounds. Please understand that I am NOT doing this for cosmetic purposes, I just want to keep myself healthy. Right now I’m aiming for 130 pounds, but 125 or 120 would be even better.

How can I lose weight safely and relatively easily? I can make simple changes to my diet, but nothing extreme. As far as exercise goes, I have gym class 2-3 times a week, I play tennis 6 hours a week, and I can fit in a 15-20 minute exercise routine or jog daily. Right now, I’ve started by cutting out all junk food, eating more fruit and vegetables, drinking more water, and avoiding very oily and salty foods. I get 8 1/2 hours of sleep daily, I never drink sugary drinks or coffee, I never eat fast food, and I eat three meals a day.

Are healthy habits enough to lose weight, or do I actually need to start working out? Could anyone recommend some exercises for me to do? How much weight is healthy to be losing in a week? Advice is appreciated. Please no rude comments. Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Eat a high fat, medium protein, low carb diet. Cut out all grains: wheat, corn, oats, rice, etc. And milk. Do a lot of walking at an even pace and lift weights.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Richard asks…

What is the best weight loss supplement for teens?

I’m 14 (15 in a month) and I have a serious weight problem. Well actually the doctor says i have average weight (I’m 115 lbs) , but i have a really big stomach. I know most girls have a pudge and they say “i look so fat” but I’m not one of those girls. I’m not exaggerating when i say i look pregnant. This has been a serious issue for me for a long time. I get made fun of at school, I can only wear really baggy shirts, I have to suck in my stomach all the time, and I can’t even wear a bathing suit without crying. I don’t know what to do!! And the thing is, It’s only my stomach. My thighs are pretty thin, and I have thin arms, it’s just my stomach. I’ve tried going on a diet, and I got into a serious exercising routine, but I cannot lose weight for some reason. I don’t eat unhealthy at all, and i am very active, I just don’t know why I can’t lose any weight. Yes I have already started my mestrual cycle (i know you can get a little fat before that) and after i started i lost a little bit of fat, but not really anything. I am extremely embarrassed about this, and it has caused me to be extremely self conscious. I am too embarrassed to even tell my own mother. So are there any prescription weight loss supplements I can take that I can mention to my doctor, or anything you can at the store or any special diet or exercise i can try? I have seriously tried everything, and I don’t know what to do anymore :,( please help!! Also another thing I want to mention, is my mom has a thyroid problem, so it is causing her to gain weight. She is taking pills and it helps her slim down a little bit, so I don’t know if it could be genetic and I could have the same thing. i just thought I might mention that.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi Mariah, you don’t need weight loss supplements. They probably won’t work as well as having a healthy diet. Even if you do take supplements, it’s going to have ZERO effect if you don’t change your current lifestyle.

This is what I recommend for diet and exercise:

Diet: keep a food journal and write down WHAT you eat and WHEN you eat. Replace unhealthy food with healthy ones. Eat less during the night. Eat small portions but more frequently. All these help.
– take out white carbohydrates (white bread, white rice, pasta)
– focus on lean protein and fiber-rich foods (lentils, greens, beans, eggs)
– take out all the junk,
– give yourself one cheat day to relax and eat anything.

Exercise: try a home dvd workout program. The reason I suggest this is because the exercises are sessions are scheduled and it’s easy to do. No gym or equipment. Just follow the program and keep up. Even if you don’t feel results immediately, your body will be activated to burn fat. The key is to get your body moving. Try any program by Jillian Michaels or BeachBody. Make sure you stick to the program. If it’s too tough, just pause the video for longer breaks or repeat the sessions.

Last: drink A LOT of water. Green tea also helps weight loss but don’t over drink it.

Good luck

Rico

John asks…

What’s the healthy amount of calories I should burn during a treadmill workout session?

I’m 5’1 and 168 lbs. I’m trying to lose weight so I recently started working out on a treadmill (I can’t afford a gym at the moment). I walk 4 miles at 2.8-3.2 mph every day. I know it’s not much but I try to increase my speeds every day. I’ve been burning about 539-553 calories per session. Should it be more, should it be less? Any treadmill workout tips?

P.S. I’m also dieting and taking a weight loss supplement.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Your story is similar to mine.

My brother and I lost a lot of weight during our first and second week of exercising. I believe in my case….it was mostly water weight. I lost 5 pounds in several days and my waistline was definitely slimmer.

Our morning and evening exercise routine consisted of a 30-minute combination of ab exercises, treadmill workout, walking, push-ups and Taebo-style aerobic workout.

It’s amazing because we were doing the same exercises that you are performing which are treadmill and walking.

However, after the third week of this, I noticed that the weight was not coming off as easily.

So, we decided to add the other 3 exercises (ads, push ups and Taebo) from tips we found in a fitness article from the website http://www.grabsometips.com/fatloss4idiots.html

It is called Burn The Fat and it is for both men and women.

My weight really started coming off quick with the easy weight training and we did it all from home. The heavy fat was melting off of me because I was burning hundreds more calories now.

And guess what…….

I ate the same food as before which consisted of:

Breakfast

3 eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, protein shake

Mid-Morning Snack

apple sauce, unsalted sunflower seeds, few pieces of cantelope

Lunch

turkey or chicken sandwich (ingredients: whole grain bread with mustard, mesquite turkey or chicken, lettuce and tomato)
water or cranberry juice
tangerine or orange
yogurt
salad

Post Lunch

peach
unsalted cashews

Dinner

rice
steamed or slightly boiled vegetables (squash, cucumbers, carrots, green beans, onions, garlic, red or green pepper)
beets
water or protein shake

Post-Dinner

2 or 3 eggs
2 slices of tomatoes
small portion of torkey or skinless chicken
water

The simple weight training along with my meal plan burned the fat and calories like magic.

I certainly hope this helps you in your quest to slim down.

Keep up the good work and don’t give up!

Maria asks…

Is my workout good enough to improve my health and lose weight?

Is a 2 mile brisk walk 3 days a week, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and Yoga on Monday, Pilates on Wednesday and Kickboxing on Friday a good enough workout. All the workouts last about half and hour. I’m really trying to eat healthy and start being more active every day. I have been putting on the pounds and have finally made it to where I cant even fit any of my clothes, so I could really use some weight loss. Is this good enough or should I be doing more?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Any type of exercise will be beneficial to you and your health. If you are wanting to lose weight, you must do a mixture of weights and cardio. I am not sure on what you are eating or how much weight you are wanting to lose, but if you are gaining weight then you are probably eating more or eating the wrong foods. … What I do is make a list of what I will eat the whole week, then go shopping only for those foods. I always keep a banana or protein shake with me if I get really hunger. As for my workout I run 3 miles 5 days a weeks, weights 3 days a weeks, and go to a boot camp class held at my gym once a week. It is not a easy workout plan, but I switch it up a lot with other activities so I do not get bored. Hope this helps. Good luck with your weight loss.Keep a great attitude and stay positive ! Remember: everyone would be doing it if it were easy …

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Daniel asks…

why did the bible state things figuratively not literally?

Jesus said he’ll explain one day. WHY?

weight loss cardiff answers:

…dietrich bonhoeffer, the great theologian, once stated that one must first be able to accept the things in the bible literally before they are to have access to that which is figurative.

Sandra asks…

What are some books that talk about the importance of human life?

I’m writing a paper about the importance of life and I was trying to find a book to help my case in it, but I haven’t been very lucky in finding any. I tried searching for it on Google, but all that showed up was the importance of books in one’s life, not books that talk about the importance of life. It would be greatly appreciated if they were by Christian authors as well, since this paper talks about Christianity.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Fiction or non?

For fiction, I would recommend Francine Rivers’ “Atonement Child”–which examines three generations of women who were all faced with the question of abortion, and the ramifications of each decision.

Non-christian fiction, “Johnny Got His Gun” by Dalton Trumbo might be a good fit. Main character is wounded in war, leaving him a paraplegic who cannot hear, speak, or see. Is his life still worth living–is the main question of the story.

For non-fiction, you might check Carmel Leal’s website. She has a lot of resources to help long-term caregivers (she nursed her late husband through Huntington’s, and has become a prolific speaker and author who focuses on quality of life for the well and the ill).

You might look into Dietrich Bonhoeffer for non-fiction. He was pretty vocal, and his writings have broad application.

Robert asks…

Bonhoeffer Quote on Marriage: What is this quote in the German original rather than the English translation?

Dear Bonhoeffer admirers and German Pros, I have a HELP request! I really like this quote from Dietrich Bonhoeffer to his niece about marriage. However, after much searching, I can only find the quote in an English translation, not in the German original. Can anybody please help find the same quote in the German original? (Bonhoeffer‘s original). I would so much appreciate your help! Here it is…

“It is right and proper for a bride and bridegroom to welcome and celebrate their wedding day with a unique sense of triumph. When all the difficulties, obstacles, hindrances, doubts, and misgivings have been, not made light of, but honestly faced and overcome – and it is certainly better not to take everything for granted – then both parties have indeed achieved the most important triumph of their lives. With the ‘Yes’ that they have said to each other, they have by their free choice given a new direction to their lives; they have cheerfully and confidently defied all the uncertainties and hesitations with which, as they know, a lifelong partnership between two people is faced; and by their own free and responsible action they have conquered a new land to live in. Every wedding must be an occasion of joy that human beings can do such great things, that they have been given such immense freedom and power to take the helm in their life’s journey. “

weight loss cardiff answers:

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Susan asks…

what is the quickest way to loose weight?

im 14 and am 5’6 and weigh 138…. i want to loose weight and just be skinny all around. i want to lose weight quick, i know its not healthy but im going to do it no matter what. i have tried puking, but i feel like it doesnt work. i need to lose weight in 2 weeks, so please help!

weight loss cardiff answers:

You are going about this is a totally unhealthy, dangerous way. Anything you lose now is most likely to be water weight, not actual fat loss. You shouldn’t cut out any foods, but the ones that are most liekly to make you put on weight (and therefore to avoid) are your sugars, fats and bad carbohydrates (white breads, etc). Good luck, and please stop puking… Try to do this sensibly.

Mary asks…

What are the easiest and quickest ways to lose weight?

I really want to lose weight in 1 or 2 weeks…any ideas?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Shedding weight isn’t really “easy.”

If you are serious about knocking off some pounds, you have to commit yourself to cardio (running) exercises daily. Perhaps take one day off. Run for 45 minutes each day.

You have to eat good, too. Cut down on the sodium, cholesterol, and saturated fats you eat (read the nutritional facts label on foods). I’d say aim for no more that 1600 cals daily, but no less than 1200. Take a multivitamin tablet when eating so few of calories to ensure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Have fun and I hope you lose weight!
