Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Charles asks…

Does someone knows about a good weight loss program at a clinic or hospital in the Boston Area?

Does someone knows about a good weight loss program at a clinic or hospital in the Boston Area?

weight loss cardiff answers:

You have one of the finest hospitals in the country in Boston: Brigham and Women’s. If you call there, they may have such a program, or be able to refer you.

Having said that, weight loss is under your control. It is ALL about calories taken in vs. Calories burned. If you eat more than your body needs, you’ll gain weight. If you eat less, you’ll lose weight. And you are probably taking in far more calories than you realize simply by snacking. By adjusting your meals to wholesome, filling foods without empty calories such as gravies and sauces, and then eliminating ALL snacking and “treats” such as dessert, candy, sweets, etc., you will lose weight at a sensible rate over time. Meanwhile, get out and move. Walk around the block a few times every single day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. For short trips, walk, don’t ride. If you do these simple things to modify your daily behavior, you’ll lose weight. No question about it.

Laura asks…

Anyone have the first 3-day jump start sheet for quick weight loss program?

I purchased the quick weight loss program back in 1999 and part of the package included the first 3-day jump start portion. I have got the entire plan, except for that part. Would someone please email me a copy of it?

John asks…

Does anyone have a weight loss program they would like to share?

I just need a simple, effective weight loss program, but I don’t want to pay for it. Anyone want to share their secrets?

weight loss cardiff answers:

To lose weight, you need to get your body to use up these stores of fat. The most effective way to do this is to:

1:) reduce the amount of calories you eat

2:) increase your levels of activity.

3:) jog in the morning BEFORE breakfast, since you would have been starving for a long time, the body will use fat supplies as energy!

Below are ways to reduce calorie intake without having to alter your diet significantly.

Replace fizzy drinks and fruit cordials with water.
Swap whole milk for semi-skimmed, or semi-skimmed for skimmed.
Eat less lunch than usual. For example, make your own sandwich and limit the use of margarine or butter and full-fat mayonnaise (store-bought sandwiches often contain both).
Stop taking sugar in tea and coffee.
Have smaller portions of the food you enjoy and avoid having a second helping at dinner.
Cut out unhealthy treats – such as confectionary, sugary biscuits and crisps between meals.
Cut down on alcohole intake.

Don’t be tempted to skip breakfast. While skipping a meal will reduce your calorie intake for that hour, it will leave you much hungrier later on.

Drinking fresh water also helps in removing waste and redundant calories which is great for losing weight and detoxifying the body. Drinking water frequently is a very important to maintaining a healthy diet and losing weight naturally.

Supplementing with Hoodia Gordonii Plus Appetite Suppressant contains 100% pure South African Hoodia plus other weight loss ingredients. On November 21, 2004 CBS correspondent, Lesley Stahl reported on 60 Minutes that a strange little plant, Hoodia Gordonii, “… Is a natural substance that literally takes your appetite away.” According to CBS, “Scientists say that it fools the brain by making you think you’re full, even if you’ve eaten just a morsel.

Hoodia extract is one of the most potent appetite suppressants available. It was originally discovered after the hunting tribes of the Kalahari Desert were found to use the root of the plant to starve off hunger. The extract was chewed while on long hunting trips, and when food was scarce.

Hoodia which is 100% natural, works as well as, if not better than any drug based appetite suppressant. It works so well, that Pfizer has been reported to pay over £20 million pounds in funding to isolate the active molecule found in Hoodia – known as P57. The reason why? Hoodia is completely side effect free.

I have personally used this product and it did help me to lose weight because i didnt feel hungry for most of the day, you must try it you will thank me, guaranteed;)

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

James asks…

What is the safest, best (long term), and quickest way to lose weight?

I am 5’3 and 270 pounds. I am ready to lose weight. I am going to start an exercise program that will have me running for 30 minutes daily by next month (I have never ran for that long). I want to lose weight with eat better, but have no clue as to what program to try. Should I go low-calorie low-fat, or low-carb (I have don’t the Atkins diet, but didn’t lose anything in the first two weeks)? What do you think I should do?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Please do not try fad diets that rarely work in the long run and consider a healthy life style change.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

How many calories should I eat a day to effectively lose weight if I’m 5’2 and 110 lbs?

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Lizzie asks…

How do you make homemade green tea?

I want to know a good recipe for homemade green tea because I’ve heard that it helps weight loss, is really healthy, etc. Any good recipes?

weight loss cardiff answers:

It’s as easy as making tea. You don’t need a recipe for tea, but if you do need one…

1) Boil some water.
2) Put the teabag or 1 tsp or so of loose green tea in a cup.
3) Pour the hot water overtop.

That’s all…

David asks…

What are some great workout that burn’s calories and fat?

I’m gonna join the gym and i need some advice and exercise that makes you lose weight.I am a 17 year old boy 200pounds also what workout equipment causes weight loss and burn calories the fastest,i want to get a six pack and get muscular. Will it be easy to burn fat and calories since i,m young and not that fat how long will it take?Oh and what food should i eat that is full of nutation’s and that does’nt cause fat like subway for example.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I know that you might not like my answer because you signed up for that fancy gym membership and all but the best way to lose fat is not the workout… It’s the person that is doing the workout

that is commitment and perserverance is always the best recipe for weight loss.

You can literally do ANY workout and lose a ton of weight.. It alld epends on u man

even if u just jump up and down in place while waving your hands you can burn 1000-2000 calories doing that in a hour if u really wanted to

but anyways i recommend cardio. Good cardio is always the best way to shave the fat off your body. Spend 30 mins – 1 hour on the treadmill every other day and you should see results very quickly

if u want to use the gym to lift weights, thats not really for losing weight its actually for Gaining weight (muscle) and that’s a entirely different thing altogether

as for nutrition you should eat more fruits and veggies and eat less carbs (rice, bread, pasta, potatoes, things like that.) u can keep eating meat though

also u should not eat junk food. Ever. And don’t oversalt your food

drink plenty of water

and there you go. The rest is up to you

Richard asks…

Can anyone suggest a three-week jump-start diet?

I want to begin a sustained weight loss program, and it’s often easier for me to start with a strict diet the first few weeks. I need to lose about forty pounds, and I exercise 2 hours M-F, circuit training, running, strength, and crew rowing; I supplement that with more running and circuits on the weekend and usually every day or every other day (I row varsity crew for my college). So I need some strict, yet sustainable diet suggestions that will get results in around a month. Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The Rotation Diet!
It is a 3 week diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly without messing up your metabolism.

I followed this diet plan to the letter about 10 years ago when I needed to lose 15 pounds and it worked wonderfully. ( lost the weight in less than 2 months)

It is easy, uses normal foods, and doesn’t force you to cut out any particular food or type of food (except excess fat)

Unfortunately after 10 years I put some of the weight back on… So I did the diet again last year and it worked again.

You do need to buy the book though I couldn’t find a copy of the diet planmenus on-line.

Here is the basic premise of the diet:
Vary the number of calories they consume during a three-week period (the rotation for women is 600/900/1200 calories); after three weeks and presumably a hearty weight loss, the dieter takes a breather and is allowed to return to “normal” eating habits.
The premise at work here is that diets fail because people get tired of dieting and because metabolism gradually slows after the body maintains a strict diet. To control eating during the maintenance phase, Katahn makes a number of helpful suggestions (i.e., exercise, drink plenty of water and avoid artificially sweetened drinks) and includes some not-so-exciting recipes.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Jenny asks…

What are some good books on the Church in Nazi Germany?

I’m interested in learning more about the Church in Germany during WWII. I’m already familiar with Dietrich Bonhoeffer (I really want to see the movie now). It would also be a bonus if the book(s) had some perspective on how those events helped shape the Church in Germany and her theologians in coming year after that.

Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The Catholic Church And Nazi Germany [Paperback]
Guenter Lewy (Author)

Complicity in the Holocaust: Churches and Universities in Nazi Germany [Hardcover]
Robert P. Ericksen (Author)

Betrayal: German Churches and the Holocaust [Paperback]
Robert P. Ericksen (Editor), Susannah Heschel (Editor)

These three are a good start to your collection for more in depth insight of Nazi Germany.

John asks…

Did Pope Benedict do enough to resist the Nazis?

I heard a Vatican representative say Ratzinger did all he could under the circumstances to resist the Nazis. Then I thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
I am not a Christian but if I had to give out holiness awards, I would go with Bonhoeffer. He gave his life in resisting the Nazis.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think generally the consensus is no, he did not. Many believe the Catholic Church and the Nazis made agreements and compromises harmful to the Jews. In fairness, this was a very difficult time, but…there are excellent sources which detail the lack of resolve of the Catholic Church at this time. German Resistance @Wikipedia
Hitler was very popular at this time and the resistance groups could not agree on principle. 77,000 Germans were imprisoned for their disagreement. Eventually there were 43 assassination attempts on his life but he survived all.

Nancy asks…

What is it that some have that cause them to stand out from others during times of great atrocities?

Examples: Oscar Schindler, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Corrie Ten Boom
