What’s your favorite easy, healthy dinner recipe? Trying to lose baby weight…?

I want to change my unhealthy habits, but I need to re-learn how to cook so I can eat healthier and lose weight. I don’t want to diet, I want to switch to a more healthy lifestyle.

So, what do you eat for dinner? I have to cook for me and my husband most days, and I need a lot of good, easy recipes to make the transition easier.

I mostly shop at Trader Joe’s, our local health food shop, and also Albertsons, local chain grocer, so I can get pretty much any ingredients, but I’m looking for easy stuff.

Please post your favorite easy recipe that’s great for weight loss and health!

Salsa Chicken

Throw frozen 3 boneless breasts in crockpot

Sprinkle a pkg of taco seasoning on top

Pour a jar of salsa over top

Cook on low 8 hours or high 3 – 4 hours

Leave as is or shred the chicken, leave it in the salsa mixture, and top it with shredded sharp cheese. Eat rolled up in tortillas.

Easy Chicken Parmesan

Favorite spaghetti sauce
boneless, skinless chicken breasts (3 – 4)
shredded mozzarella cheese, part skim ( 1/2 cup)
grated Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup)

Preheat the oven to 350 .

Top with sauce and then the cheeses. Bake about 30 minutes or until cheese is golden and sauce is bubbly. Serve with pasta.

so i am trying to lose some weight this summer before i go back to school, i am going to officially start my work out tomorrow as well as a weight loss meal plan. Obviously fruits and veggies are great! Crabs bad, etc. Well I was wondering of some really good
1) Detox plans, I am planning on doing a detox next week so I am preparing for it now with the foods I will want and everything. So any good suggestions? I prefer a simpler plan because I am insanely busy ALL the time with my job, the more basic and easier to prepare the better!

2) Any good diet supplements/foods that I should try. I am looking for really filling foods with lots of protein and fiber, I am out in the sun a lot so I lose a lot of energy from that on top working so the more protein and fiber the better! This can be actually foods or even a diet supplement that you found at walmart that you liked a ton!

3) Any helpful suggestions that have made a difference for you or even a friend! I do have a work out buddy, my mom and my sister! Thanks everyone!

Im looking for some good diet plans to help me loose my baby weight, ive looked online but you have to pay for them. Im a vegetarian who eats no meat but does eat dairy products.

This one works for me. Cut out the dairy, don’t use oil or fat when cooking, make sure you eat a big variety of things, eat only small amounts of oil rich foods (nuts, seeds, olives etc), eat lots and lots of fruit and veg and whole grains (brown rice, wholemeal pasta and bread) so you don’t get hungry, and regularly do some exercise. It is important that you eat a wide variety of different things.

Interval Training is a great workout because its essential in burning fat. Heres an example of a interval workout you can do:

OneWalk 10 minutes. Next 6 minutes alternate running 1 minute and walking 1 minute. Walk 4 minutes. Stretch.
Strength Training Program.
Walk 10 minutes.
Next 8 minutes alternate running 1 minute and walking 1 minute.
Walk 2 minutes.
Strength Training Program.
Walk 8 minutes. Next 10 minutes alternate running 1 minute and walking 1 minute.
Walk 2 minutes.
Rest Day
Walk 6 minutes.
Next 12 minutes alternate running 2 minutes and walking 2 minutes.
Walk 2 minutes.

Weight training is also very important so you can tone your muscles, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day. Now your diet should consist of lots of fruits, veggies and lean meats. It also helps to eat 5-6 “small” meals a day so you can keep your metabolism going, Drink plenty of water (64 oz) take a multivitamin and get plenty of sleep. Good Luck!

I have a family so it’s hard for me to find a diet that has meal plans that I can do. I don’t know the first thing about cooking healthy so meal plans, & shopping lists would be great but the only ones I’ve seen are for a single person not a whole family.

There is a site online that provides meal plans, calorie trackers, recipes with nutrtional information. There are motivating articles, & support groups. You start by entering your current weight and then your goal weight. It will tell you how many calories you need to consume in a day to loose the weight within a desired time-frame. They do not encourage you to shoot for more than 2 lbs a week. It has a 4 step process to get you started making gradual changes in your eating and lifestyle to help you acheive your goal and maintain your weight loss. It is a free program and there are not 200 million adds or pop-ups. You can set the meals you like and you can print a shopping list. I don’t think the shopping list is for a whole family but if you set a meal plan and print the list you should be able to easily purchase the amount you need for your family. Oh, and it is not low-carb or low-fat or any trend it is about learning a healthy balanced diet, portion control and incorporting exercise into your life.

• Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That’s the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight… You must eat (the right things, of course)
• Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
• Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
OK, one apple after 18:00
• Don’t starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
• Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast–eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.

WHAT to drink for losing weight…

• Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the “hunger” sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don’t believe the slogan “water makes me fat”. Beside being stupid… You might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.

You should try the Atkins Diet. Like any diet you will drop a lot of weight the first week from water but it is a easy diet to follow and it really works for me. Good luck to you.
